With the characteristic of flexibility, convenience and green environmental protection, the intelligent electric bike(E-bike) gradually becomes the ideal fitness and travel tool. The obvious difference between the E-bike and the traditional bike is that the former possesses the intelligent power-assisted function. The traditional bike has the significant disadvantages of monocontrol, low motor efficiency and poor riding experience. As a result, the E-bike to replace the traditional bike is the inevitable trend of the traffic development in the future. Based on the latest development research of the E-bike, the control system of the intelligent electric bike with the torque sensor is proposed in this paper. Moreover, the informationization and intellectualization of the E-bike is realized in the control system. The main research work is as follows:(1) Based on analyzing the mechanical structure of the E-bike and the stress state in the course of riding, the scheme of the torque sensor consisting of the sensitive strain gauge is proposed. Due to the special working situation of the torque sensor, the solution of the wireless transmission of the power and signal is applied in the torque sensor.(2) The single torque control method cannot achieve the ideal riding experience, especially in the situation of the uphill and upwind. In order to realize the function of intelligent power assistant, the control method based on the multiparameter is proposed. Based on acquiring the torque signal and the relevant parameters such as the speed, the frequency of riding, the real-time road conditions and the remaining power, the algorithm of the multiparameter control is realized by the PID control algorithm.(3) The communication between the E-bike and the smartphone is implemented by the Bluetooth technology, which complements each other in the intelligent control and data processing. Then on this basis, the functions of the intelligent navigation, the power management of the lithium battery and the power-assisted mode self-regulation are implemented in the application of the smartphone.
