The new generation smartphone which support LTE (Long Term Evolution Long Term Evolution) is the focus of IC industry, while it’s also means the leading edage technology of IC design. With the rapid development of mobile Internet, LBS (Location Based Service), multi-device interactive, multi-screen interactive demands continue to increase, WiFi (wireless LAN), BT (Bluetooth), GPS (Global Postioning System) and Beidou have become the standard configuration of smartphones, its position in the smartphone from purely optional function chip becomes an important bearing function.Wireless connectivity chip has become a battleground in the smartphone. Relevant technical standards are rapidly evolving constantly. While the smartphone towards to large-screen, ultra-thin, high-performance which make WCN chip to bring highly integrated, multi-mode co-exist, low power consumption, and many other new challenges.Based on the requirements of smartphone, the thesis studied system design and implementation of WCN chip in the new generation smartphone, the main achievements of the thesis are as follows:1, Focus on the key technology of WCN,especially take a detail analysis on system scheme of multimode WCN integration, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different system architecture, creatively puts forward a technical scheme of using software defined radio to realize the WCN chip, which points the future SoC approach of WCN with base band chips.2, The baseband chip using SoC(System on Chip) integration, RF dies using SIP (System in Package), design emphatically solves the multimode WCN working mode control, clock tree configuration, multi power network topology for power and control, as well as ADC,DAC and a series of technical difficulties in interconnection.3, Take a research on the multimode WCN chip, mainly discusses multi-mode wireless connection chip converter test, the RF performance of wireless chip test.Combined with the actual situation of the project, the thesis choose SIP (System in Package) way to achieve a single-chip WCN chip design. Finally, the thesis using WiFi test result to verify the correctness and feasibility of the design concept, which is the most important block of the WCN chip.
