Revive The Public Spirit Through Comments

Ark Review, since being founded in 2002, has published about one thousand reviews that cover fields such as economy, culture, politic, education. With its own features, it plays an essential role in transforming readers’ thoughts and social ideas. News reviews are different from news reports. Reviews are subjective, when making judgements about real events, showing a clear personal attitude and judgement. Thus, reviews are regarded as the sole and the flag of media, indicating the media’s attitude. This paper will explore and quantify Ark Review’s agenda setting through SPSS and UCINET, by using factor analysis, cluster analysis, and social network analysis, attempting to explain the reasons why the column set Public Spirit as the topic. Based on this, the paper will further study on Ark Review’s focusing on Public Spirit, and disclose the close relationship between writer groups and Public Spirit concerning their background, their focuses on reality and their choices of topic. Finally, this paper will discuss routes and methods of developing public spirit through comment colum.
