The key to the development of optical fiber communication technology is optical waveguide. Micro-ring Resonator is of simple structure, small size, easy to achieve and so on, so it takes an irreplaceable position in the large scale integrated optical path. The basic applications of micro ring resonators are filters and sensors. For the filter, the large free spectral range is a very important factor to measure the filter which can reduce the crosstalk between the channels. One of the most important factors to measure the sensor is the sensitivity, which directly affects the accuracy of the measurement of the signal. In view of the free spectral range and the sensitivity of the sensor, the influence of different parameters on the free spectral range and the sensitivity of the sensor are discussed. The main conclusions as follows:Establish model, use the coupling mode theory and transfer matrix method, derive the relationship between the optical field intensity of the transmitted light and the radius of the Micro-ring Resonator, the loss coefficient, length, etc.Analysis filter characteristics of Micro-ring Resonator, simulate the distribution of optical field in frequency domain.In the case of the same parameters, free spectral range of the improved model is widened compared with the traditional model.Constructing a U type feedback optical waveguide structure with a Micro-ring Resonator as its core structure,use the coupling mode theory and transfer matrix method.Derive the normalized output light intensity formula.Simulate the relationship between the intensity of the normalized light field and the coupling coefficient, the transmission coefficient and the loss factor.Find the optimal working parameters, and the sensor sensitivity is S1=9.13×104dB/RIU under this parameter.
