Digital sun sensor as an attitude sensor of space satellites, mainly by calculating the sun spot centroid to measure attitude data of aerospace satellite, then control the satellite attitude, showing its important position in the aerospace industry. To ensure high-precision, high-reliability and the requirements of anti-radiation, digital sun sensor is needed to be tested on the ground. Thus, the design of test equipment will be put forward higher requirements.To achieve these objectives, this paper aims to study and design a detection system of FPGA-based digital sun sensor to complete the testing of the digital sun sensor. The systemcan achieve high-speed transfer of image data by the LVDS interface, control image data recepting and transmissing through the FPGA, and use high-speed SDRAM memory for data caching and scheduling, finally, through the USB2.0 interface to communicate with the PC, showing the spot image tansmitted and received in real-time.In the hardware design, this paper proposes the overall program of a hardware implementation, introduces the specific process of hardware working, elaborates the chip selection of hardware modules, circuit schematic design, as well as the principles and requirements of PCB design, ensuring the reliability of the hardware system design.In the FPGA logic and USB firmware design, the paper describes the development process and tools of the FPGA logic design, elaborates ideas and methods of the logic module design, as well as the precautions. Based on agreements between USB2.0 Communication and PC, the paper also introduces the development and logical design ideas of the Cy7c68013 chip firmware program.In the PC and algorithm design, this paper introduces the PC design process and development environment, and describes the PC capabilities. Meanwhile, this paper also raises a sun centroid algorithm and spot algorithms.Finally,through analyzing each module tests of the system, indicating that the scheme designed in this paper is feasible. From the analysis of tripartite kind, both the designed hardware system and software systems, all meet the system requirements and the design goals, complete the digital sun sensor testing tasks.
