SOPC(System On Programmable Chip) is a flexible and efficient solution forSOC,it is also a new system design technology which relies on both software andhardware coordination.Embedded systems based on SOPC have advantages of smallsize,low power consumption,excellent preformance,high reliability and so on.It hasbeen widely used in military,consumable electronic,network communication,industialcontrol and many other fields.NIOSII embedded processor which is based on SOPCtechnology is a changeable,general RISC CPU.It is provided to designer as IPcore,while they can customize the required peripheral devices in the GUI of SOPC.Theconfigurable of NIOSII processors brings great flexibility into the design of embeddedsystems.This paper provides an implementation of intelligent control system of zenithtelescope based on NIOSII and the system workflow is described in detail. On the basisof DE2-70,USB2.0High Speed Interface,operate panel and expand circuit of the serialdisplay LCD have been designed and accomplished. Intelligent controllor of zenithtelescope with the structure which is FPGA+NIOSII+Double SDRAM imagebuffers+USB2.0high speed interface is designed by means of designing the customNIOSâ…ˇ IP core of the devices. The control system of digital zenith telescope is realizedby USB firmware programming and the NIOSII controlling program based on SOPC.Verification of the control system of digital zenith telescope is implemented by meansof programming the upper application.
