The bistatic MIMO radar which not only combines the advantages of both the bistatic radar and the centralized radar, but also avoids their disadvantages, has recently become the research focus in the filed of MIMO radar. This thesis studies the target tracking technology of the bistatic MIMO radar under the background of the clutter.Starting from the basic principle and the signal model, the thesis conducts the research on clutter modeling and suppression techniques, target tracking algorithm research and technical analysis, simulation platform building and target tracking simulation.1. The main contents of the thesis are listed as follows:Basic principle of the bistatic MIMO radar and signal modelBased on the bistatic MIMO radar of the send and receive division of centralized antenna, the thesis gives the induction on its basic principle and signal model, discusses the characteristics and advantages of the radar system and also illustrates the elementary structure of signal processing of the bistatic MIMO radar and processing flow.2. Methods of clutter modeling and clutter suppression of the bistatic MIMO radarThe thesis analyses the clutter characteristic of the bistatic MIMO radar, treats the systemic resolution as constraint and gives the unit division method of the bistatic MIMO radar. The clutter echo is finally got by calculation of the echo of the clutter unit and vector summation. Through simulation, validity and efficiency of the clutter modeling method can be verified. Lastly, the clutter suppression ways based on MTI,and MTD, signal pulse long time accumulation and the time domain window treatments are discussed in order to suppress the clutter, and the effect of each method is simulated.3. Research on target tracking technology of the bistatic MIMO radarFrom the estimation method of common state parameter and tracking filtering algorithm as the starting points, the thesis combines the typical target motion model to study the target tracking technology of the bistatic MIMO radar. In the light of the characteristics of target tracking of the bistatic MIMO radar and based on the target tracking ways combined with a least square estimation and KALMAN filter, the thesis effectively solves the redundancy problem of the bistatic MIMO radar measurement information and nonlinear problem of target tracking. Through simulation, the validity of all the tracking ways and the strengths of MIMO radar in the respects of trackingprecision comparing the phased array radar have been verified.4. Simulation platform of the bistatic MIMO radar system and target tracking simulationThe thesis builds the simulation platform of the bistatic MIMO radar system and the platform includes three major parts: echo signal simulation, signal processing and data processing. By using this platform, the target tracking of the bistatic MIMO radar is comprehensively simulated and the thesis analyzes the positioning performance of tracking and makes the comparison with the phased array radar under the same situation.
