China’s outstanding traditional culture is the core part of the national soft power. After the 18 th session of National People’s Congress, the central authorities proposed and clarified the basic content of the current socialist core values: values at the national level: a prosperity, democracy, civilization and harmony; values of the social dimension: freedom, equality, justice, the rule of law; values at the individual level: patriotism, dedication, integrity, friendship. In the framework of the socialist core values which constitutes the above three levels, we can see the publicity of the connotation of traditional Chinese culture and the essence of Wisdom and Faith.In the practice of the promotion of the socialist core values, it is imperative for the people of insight to carry forward traditional Chinese culture so as to construct the spiritual life of Chinese people, thus creating a solid foundation for the restoration of a virtuous social order. It is also echoed by the people who have a deep understanding of traditional Chinese culture.Under the background of the new media age, there are different channels and organizations, official and civil, organizational and individual, promoting the excellent traditional culture. In this study, based on thescientifically defined popular dissemination of traditional culture, with the people of traditional culture as observed object, the new media environment as the backdrop, from the perspective of functionalist analysis, I will analyze the social role of traditional culture folk dissemination and social function; examine the status of its spread, the effect and operation problems.With the functionalist theory of communication as a tool, I will further explain the social roles and functions of the traditional folk culture dissemination. In the article’s argument, this paper will propose three main models of traditional folk culture spreadwith specific cases and literature research: 1, forum-like propagation; 2, academic dissemination; 3, Virtual communication, and so on. In the analysis of each mode of transmission, we have adopted this thinking pattern: with a realistic combination of specific cases and centralized process mode of communication modeling, I will analyze the factors during this process, and then comment on the pros and cons of each model.The study concluded that the prosperity of traditional folk culture spread is the necessary way to achieve the revitalization of traditional culture. I will try to generalize several modes of traditional folk culture spread, and based on the analysis of the various propagation modes of communication process, I will analyze the problems popping up in the new media age and then put forward some constructive suggestions which will be of some helpto the current situation. With the development of mass media technologies, cultural spread among people in all spheres of society are playing an increasingly important role, such as the expansion of a new diplomatic channel. The spread of traditional culture among people could also fully mobilize the idle resources.The focus on the spread of traditional Chinese culture will make the traditional folk culture spread more standardized, forming a virtuous circle of traditional culture. It is also a good catalyst for the construction of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics and the the realization of a harmonious society.
