Online Public Opinion Research Of "Anti-PX Project" Since 2007 Perspective

This paper take the online public opinion of "Anti-PX Project" since 2007 for the study, then online public opinion are analyzed from two perspectives, which are discourse system and public opinion structure. And thus to explore the process of online mobilization and information production during these environment group events.The PX event happened on Xiamen in 2007 has been called "Start of Chinese environmental movement" and "citizen participation in the attempt". While the satisfactory solution to the Xiamen PX event does not provide a precedent for similar projects. Instead, public opinion began its construction process on the "PX project curse". Almost every "PX events" has been staged the same scene:the government launched - public opposition - protest - termination of the project (or quietly launched). Among these "PX events", the online public opinion as a mobilizing force has played an important role in boosting the development of the event. Through the catalytic and amplification of online public opinion on the environment group events, we can witness the relationship and contradictions of government, public, media and other multi-party during Chinese social transition period.This paper take the online public opinion of anti-PX project event as study object. First of all, the evolution and communication process of series of PX events since 2007 will be described, carding historical scenes behind separate incidents’ online public opinion. Secondly, this paper take the PX incidents happened on Xiamen, Ningbo, Maoming three places as cases, using the ROST-CM crawl the web text from forum, making word frequency statistics and semantic network analysis, extracting high-frequency words, which in order to explore the discourse logic of online public opinion in PX events. Thirdly, this paper take the PX event on Maoming as the research object. According to the exchange relationship between Internet users, the paper establish relations matrix between actors. Using social network analysis software UCINET, the paper measure online public opinion analysis network transmission through central, density, distance, agglomeration subgroup analysis.At last, Internet expanded the social capital of the bottom of society, so that they can start environmental struggle, but of online media is not an institutional interests expression channel. This article attempts to provide ideas and views on how to make "PX curse" return to the level of the discussion from the level of violence.
