OTN is the nerve center of the ground infrastructure in high-speed railway system, which provides timely and accurate information transmission for train operation dispatching command system, train operation control system, train condition monitor, remote fault diagnosis, emergency operation, etc. Therefore, OTN is the basis and precondition to ensure the safety of high-speed railway.With the rapid development of the Internet, as the basis of the data communication service platform, data communication network plays an increasingly important role in the railway communication system. According to the diversity of IP service in railway system, a IP carrying platform which is broadband, integrated and can distinguish different quality requirements of service with the basis of the characteristics of business. So the research on the protection, coordination and network survivability of IP over OTN network is of great significance.The main research contents and results are as follows:The relationship between OTN and railway communication network is illustrated from 4 aspects:the basic principle of OTN, the physical topology design of OTN, the application and protection of OTN. The protection strategies of OTN are given from operational level, equipment level, system level and network level.The relationship between IP data network and OTN is comprehensively explained from system scheme, business requirements, technical problem and protection strategy. Combined with system scheme and business requirements in railway, the existing problems of data network is given. Protection strategy of IP data network is proposed from two aspects.At last, the protection coordination strategy of data network and OTN is demonstrated in the paper. Interoperability tests is given on the router and OTN equipmentin the lab, thenthedata from the tests is analysed in the paper. Besides, in order to study the survivability of IP over OTN network, asimulation design for the ring of key network in railway is given, using the K shortest path algorithm.
