The Research Of The Usability Of Smart Phone’s Assistive Touch

The thesis intended for smartphones’ " Assistive touch" usability design principles. In the first chapter, the author clarified the words of "Assistive touch" and other words for the facility of the research. And in the second chapter the author elaborated the origin of the "Assistive touch", and physiological knowledge of human hand when people use their smartphone with their one single hand. Given that the size of the screen of smartphone go larger and larger, the author emphasized the prominent advantages of "Assistive touch" in one-handed operation situation. In the third chapter the author analysed the six usability indicators of "Assistive touch" respectively with the help of the user interview and the survey. That is efficiency, easy to learn, high satisfaction, easy to remember, less error and the consistency. So the author found some usability problems, and she gave the design principles to tackle the usability problems. In the fourth paragraph chapter, the author conducted a usability test about the efficiency and did the survey of the satisfaction of tester when they use the Samsung smartphone. And the author found the above-mentioned problems and the principles is effective through the usability test and the satisfaction survey with the modified version of the "Assistive touch", so in the last paragraph the author make a final conclusion about the issue.
