In recent years, a lot of countries around the world pay much attention to brain science and Brain-Computer Interface technology which will become important research field in the future. Europe and the United States and other countries had officially released Brain Science Project, and made some achievements. For example, Medical artificial limb based on BCI helps the disabled who have dyskinesia. With the development of social demand, the requirement of accuracy and speed of BCI grows rapidly. On one hand, the accuracy of neural decoding will be improved by increasing the quantity of neural signals in an ordinary way. On the other hand, a real time neural signals processing system which has much computing power can accelerate the neural decoding and shorten the time.We designed a real time neural signal processing system, which combined with fast serial swith technology, based on VPX standard in order to improve the accuracy and speed of neural decoding. The system, equiped with Multicore DSP SoC, has remarkable computing power. It receives and allocates data from the gathering module. The high-speed switch of data through 10G bandwidth contributes to serial RapidIO technology. The distributed computing results will be transmitted to next device after summarized. All these steps create a closed loop system. The real time neural signals processing system based on VPX standard is a key device of the neural decoding module. The test results show the real time neural signals processing system is able to decode the data of 64 channels in 100ms precisely. The system meets the demand of accuracy and speed of neural decoding.
