With the development of internet, the audiences’ TV view habits have changed from traditional media-television to a new media platform which has no limit of times and places. The audiences are no longer passive recipients. They began to actively search programs they are interested in. This trend brought huge opportunity to internet video site. However, the problems such as homogenization of competition and increasing network copyright price have became more and more serious due to the development of video site.Inspired by the overseas self produced video programs as well as relevant policies order in the past few years, our self produced video programs have sprung up. Compared to the traditional media, the self produced video programs have higher level of entertainment and stronger interactive. How to make content different is currently the biggest challenge to Chinese video websites. These self produced video programs need to use big data platform to help them producing more high quality video programs, enhancing customer loyalty and building their own brand.The propose of this article is to discuss the concept of self produced video programs and their current situation and prospect. It also analyze self produced programs’ features and advantages, find out the limitation of the existing studies and make recommendations for future research.
