The acousto-optic correlation processing technology introduced into the conventional radar digital signal processing allows radar signal processing to own a relatively high signal bandwidth and relatively high work parallel signal processing speed, greatly improving the detection performance of the radar signal. This thesis studies for the back-end signal processing of the acousto-optic correlation, by extracting the cross-correlation function through the correlation process between radar transmission signal and echo signal, and presents a back-end signal processing program, and through the discussion, analysis and validation, and finally capture the range and motion parameters of the target.This thesis introduces the basic principles of the wideband radar with the acousto-optic correlated processing system and the overall process of the back-end signal processing, and explains the basic principle of cross-correlation function extraction. Then describes the commonly used module of the conventional Doppler radar in back-end digital signal processing in terms of the extraction target range and motion parameters, and conducts a comprehensive simulation to the schemes of back-end signal processing with the acousto-optic correlation system by building cross-correlation function data. Through the processing technology of pulse compression, pulse Doppler and other back-end processing technology, obtains the target’s Range-Doppler graphics. Then simulates the cases of different distance and radial velocity to obtain the moving targets’ Range-Doppler graphics. By analyzing the position of the peak figure, it can derive the target distance and radial velocity information which is the same as the preset parameters.Finally, design a detailed experimental simulations to the hardware circuit of back-end signal processing and a validation of each module on FPGA breadboard. Through the circuit analysis, the circuit module selection, circuit simulation and circuit verification to verify the feasibility and accuracy of circuit design through progressive way. During the processing of data, make it working in a pipelined manner, followed by compression circuit and pulse Doppler processing circuit, then build the targets’ Range_Doppler diagram, and compared with the theoretical data to prove that the design of back-end signal processing circuit is feasible and accurate.
