Pulse Doppler Radar is a radar using the Doppler effect to detect the position of the moving target and the velocity in relative movement. Since 1970 s, with the development of large-scale integrated circuits and digital signal processing technology, Pulse Doppler Radar is widely used in airborne early warning, navigation, satellite tracking, weapon fire control and meteorological exploration, which has become an important military equipment. The radar owns the following characters:(1)Applications of high-performance chips in processing programmable signal processing increases the handling capacity, speed and flexibility of the radar signal, thus the radar has the a?ility to deal with various kinds of interference and identify the target;(2)By using different pulse repetition periods, the radar has the ability to produce adaptive waveforms, which means that it can choose the optimal waveform to obtain the best working condition in accordance with different action distance;(3)By using Doppler beam sharpening techniques to obtain higher resolution, dense group targets can be distinguished in the air to air status of the enemy.The working principles of Pulse Doppler Radar can be expressed as follows: when a pulse wave of a fixed frequency is transmitted to scan, for a moving target, the frequency of the echo and the transmitted wave is different, which is called the Doppler frequency. According to the value of the Doppler frequency, the relative radial velocity between the target and radar can be measured; Based on the time difference between the transmitted and received pulses, the distance to the target can be measured. To satisfy the development requirements of the signal processor for Doppler radar, the signal processing algorithms and the data processing algorithms are researched under the ADSP TS201 hardware platform in this paper.Firstly, the paper introduces the projects background and the Pulse Doppler Radar applications, and then some signal processing algorithms involved are also presented, such as pulse compression, moving target detection. Combined with the applications of research projects background, the multi-frequency M/N testing in multipath environments is also presented. This paper then explains some basic concepts of radar data processing, focusing on the a? filtering algorithm. By analyzing the mathematical models and considering the influence of multipath effects, the use of multi frequency point scheme is proposed toachieve the purpose of sta?le tracking. Then the MATLAB simulation results of these algorithms are analyzed and the corresponding conclusions are obtained.Secondly, the paper introduces the hardware platform of pulse Doppler radar signal processing, including hardware structure, system resources, junction topology between the DSP chips and the performance of the TS201 DSP chip. Then the task partition and processing flow chart of each board are carried out with respect to hardware foundation and taking the working mode of pulse Doppler radar signal processor into consideration. Next, according to the theory of radar signal processing, the engineering implementation and the DSP software design flow chart are completed.Finally, the paper introduces the problems encountered in the process of project debugging, including data missing problem and time-sequences error problem. To solve these two problems, the paper makes some detail analysis and puts forward the feasible solutions. The scheme can be applied to engineering implementation, and the system has been improved greatly, which provides reference value for engineering implementation.
