Mobile ad hoc network is composed of a lot of mobile nodes, which are on an equal status. For the nodes’ routing in the network, they either get access to the routing to all the nodes in the network in advance, or make flooding routing request in the network when they needed, because of the network is dynamic. These two ways will cause huge network overhead when the network has huge mobile nodes, increasing the probability of communication failure between mobile nodes.By partitioning and layering the mobile nodes in the network to reduce the number of mobile nodes in subnets, can effectively limit the flooding scope of control message and reduce the network overhead. Introducing mobility management technology on the basis of the partitioning technique, can effectively reduce the overhead of the network, also can provide efficient routing information for nodes.This thesis studies the location management technologies in large-scale mobile nodes, and the routing technologies applied in large-scale mobile node, and puts forward the regional grid routing protocol based on geographical location. The implementation of the protocol is GOLSR protocol. Next, the realization process of the GOLSR protocol from four aspects, namely, partitioning scheme, control message format and processing, routing and mobility management is introduced. Then, combined with the actual demand, the thesis puts forward the regional location grid mobility management scheme based on geographical location. Through the introduction of mobility management, we can reduce the network overhead effectively, and provide efficient routing information for nodes. Mobility management scheme includes location management scheme and routing query scheme. Location management scheme including GOLSR protocol, uses the static grid based on geographic location, to divide the network into two layers. Meanwhile, it can limit the control messages of mobile nodes in the grid based on the actual geography location, and reduce network overhead. Thirdly, we introduce the two level location server structure. The lower location server is responsible for location management in the grid, and advanced location server is responsible for location management within the scope of the whole network. These can simplify the operation for location management. Query routing scheme needs the cooperation of two level location server, when node’s routing is unreachable. Two location servers use the node location message to search a shortest key routing. Above is the main content of the mobility management scheme.Finally, this thesis makes a network experiment under the Ubuntu system, to verify the regional location grid mobility management scheme based on geographic location from GOLSR protocol function, location management scheme and routing query scheme these three aspects.
