As an essential equipment of modern battlefield, array radar has attracted a lot of attention recently. In phased array radar, searching task and tracking task can be performed simultaneously. This is because the radar beam can be switched instantaneously. In this case, searching task and tracking task will seize the time resource and energy resource inevitably. In MIMO radar, the sub-array of antenna can be divided flexibly, which brings more freedom in resource management and makes the resource management more difficult. This paper studies the array radar resource management algorithm, which mainly include the radar resource management algorithm in searching mode, the radar resource management in tracking mode, and the beam dwell scheduling algorithm.The purpose of resource management algorithm in searching mode is to find the optimal parameters of searching task. In this paper, the resource management models in searching mode are formulated for phased array radar and MIMO radar respectively, where the objection is to minimize the total resource consumption under the guarantee of searching performance. Here, searching performance is represented by cumulative detection probability. In existing reference, cumulative detection probability is deduced when the target moves with constant radial velocity. In this model, the derivation of cumulative detection probability for the target with tangential velocity is given, and both racial cumulative detection probability and tangential cumulative detection probability are considered in constraint conditions, so that searching performance can be guaranteed in the increasingly complex battlefield environment. The resource management algorithm in searching mode is obtained through solving the optimization problem by genetic algorithm in above model.In the resource management of tracking task, a fast adaptive update rate algorithm for phased array radar is given, which is based on the estimation of the parameter of maneuvering movements. This algorithm, which utilizes the limited time resources effectively, decreases the amount of calculation when compared with the predictive estimation error covariance threshold method. The resource management algorithm of MIMO radar in multi-target tracking mode is also given, which utilize one wide-beam to illuminate multi-target. This will reduce the resource consumption compared with phased array radar, which illuminate the target one by one.Beam dwell scheduling is the kernel proceeding of radar. In this paper, we mainly discuss the partial template scheduling algorithm which is suitable for engineering application. A design process is given and has been verified under various task requests.The integration of the above three parts can achieve the whole system of radar resource management. Finally, this paper simulates the phased array radar resource management system, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the system.
