With the increase of electromagnetic environment signal numbers, electromag-netic environment is getting more and more complex, and the impact of electromag-netic environment on the electronic system is becoming more and more significant. The effect of complex electromagnetic environment has also get people’s attention gradually. Electromagnetic signals of electromagnetic environment can be trans-fered into the electronic information system through various channels. If all kinds of jamming signal get into systems, and if electronic systems can’t erase the influence of jamming signals effectively, the jamming signals can definitely effect electronic information systems. Nowadays, there are serious security major safety accidents and problems exposed in military training, and it is clear to all that the influence of complex electromagnetic environment to electronic information systems becomes serious enough to be a threat to the social development, public security, national defense and army building.The complexity of complex electromagnetic environment is hard to measure, es-pecially when the electromagnetic environment and electronic information systems are tightly coupled. Researching on the problem of measurement methods, putting forward the measurement principles, metrics, and providing complex electromag-netic environment evaluation and simulation method is very necessary. Complexity evaluation studies of complex electromagnetic environment is the fundation of other researches.To research on complex electromagnetic environment complexity, one need to study the results of complexity science and complex systems, finding sources and essential characteristics of the complexity of complex electromagnetic environment, and then established a set of measurement methods based on the principles of complexity science. From the perspective of complexity science, this paper discusses the performance of the complex electromagnetic environment, characteristics as well as the complexity measure method of complex electromagnetic environment.This paper consists three parts:First of all, this paper describes the models and the complexity measurement methods of the complex electromagnetic environment. This article started with the modeling methods of complex electromagnetic environments, and then, set up the signal model and the network topology model of electromagnetic environ-ment.Meanwhile, the thesis proofed the orthogonality of the basic parameter and the orthogonality of seven dimensions of signal model. The network topology model was established afterwards, by fixing MLW model as well as its modeling methods, making them suitable for the complex electromagnetic environment. This article then set up the definition of complexity based on features of dissipative system, and also set up the measurement method of complex electromagnetic environment based on the three level of complex network.Secondly, the complex electromagnetic environment measurement hardware system was designed. The complex electromagnetic environment parameters test system based on PXI was given. And then a kind of low-performance, but low-cost microwave probe system was set up to be an alternative choice of measurement. Meanwhile, a method of testing signal polarization antenna layout method was dis-cussed. Afterwards, this paper discussed the design of complex electromagnetic environment complexity metric algorithm as well as the software design. Based on the measurement method previously discussed and parameters get by hardware systems, the specific measure algorithm was made out. Then the hardware and software interaction design was set up, as well as the method of software control.Finally, based on the three complexities defined before, simulation and exper-iments had been done to validate the method and system of complexity of CEE measurement. By building different electromagnetic environments, measuring its complexity, and analyzing the results, improved that the method and system can measure the complexity distribution in the space domain, and the measurement result is accurate.
