Energy efficient and low latency of data transmission has been an important research direction of WSN. With the application of the WSN development, the experts and scholars to join the research upsurge in. Data collection, data transmission and data processing are three important parts of energy efficiency and low latency in data transmission. In this paper, we mainly study the two directions from the microscopic direction of nodes and the macro direction of node data transmission.First, we focus on how to effectively deal with collecting data in nodes and forwarding data to the next hop nodes, which makes data transmission delay as small as possible, while ensuring in the transmission nodes cost less energy. This paper designs an energy efficient and low latency MAC protocol: CH-MAC. The protocol compresses the data request frame RTS and the data request to clear frame CTS to a new control frame- T frame. In the transmission process, T frame can serve as the current node receives data frame after the confirmation; but also to represent a data transmission request, omitting time cost in the transmission of RTS frame during data transmission and continuous request, thus speeding up the transmission of data. Also in order to avoid the node energy consumption of idle listening, we proposed an active node sleep mechanism, let the sending data node goes to sleep once it receives an acknowledgement frame, thereby reducing the node idle listening and the effects of hidden terminal problem. Finally, through the simulation experiment of the four kinds of networks show that CH-MAC can effectively reduce the packet transmission delay and reduce the energy consumption.Then, we committed to how to reduce the transmission energy consumption of the whole network. The raising of CS has brought a huge impact to the traditional industries, including WSN. Therefore, this paper attempts to combine the CS to the data collection in WSN. First, cluster data collection based on CS is proposed. Due to the advantage of traditional network, the network is divided into clusters, reducing the data transfer between nodes in the cluster. At the same time, the CS binding to data collected in the process, the cluster head nodes will observation data compression, namely data acquisition under the given measurement matrix, with the less data to be transmitted, effectively reduce the energy consumed by the node transmission. Finally, all the data are collected, data reconstruction error is obtained. And a feedback mechanism is proposed, adjusting the number of rows of the measurement matrix; thus we can get a more accurately data. In addition, with the application of WSN, a data collection algorithm which can adjust the quality of the reconstruction data based on CS is proposed. By obtaining the real-time communication bandwidth of the node, the measurement matrix of the real time adjusting point, the node can reconstruct the original data which can satisfy the error.
