In the paper, the author takes the battlefield articles which were written by Fan Changjiang during 1936 to 1938 as the main research object. In addition, the paper did a research of writing style of Fan’s work, including his content, attitude, and so on.Fan’s battlefield reports combined the vast horizon and microscopic analysis, told people the detailed things about the Anti-Japanese War continuously. Fan Changjiang’s battlefield work truly reflected the frontline soldiers and civilians’fighting scene, not only stroke the KMT senior generals and ordinary soldiers, but also the general public in the event of war, as well as his own personal experience during the war.As an independent reporters who have liberal personality, Fan Changjiang wrote for to the victory of the war. He sharply criticized the political issues of KMT government during the Anti-Japanese War, while keep upholding the unity and resistance of Chinese people, inspire to use the power of the whole nation to fight Japanese in his war reports. In this paper, the author analysed the attitude and position of Fan Changjiang’s war reports, combined with the newspaper Ta Kung Pao that Fan worked for. The paper demonstrates that the liberal newspaper Ta Kung Pao allowed Fan Changjiang to have part of freedom of expression, and his attitude for the war is also the part of Ta Kung Pao’s patriotism toward the war.This paper summarized the three major characteristics of Fan’s battlefield as a keen sense of military, intense political commentary and full humanist care, all these features result from Fan’s military experience of his youth, the accumulation of political and military knowledge, and his national identity and the view of people. These features differentiated Fan’s battlefield report from the general ones.
