Soil was not only the major production material in agriculture but also the material basis of human survival. Soil nutrients, which were necessary for plant growth and development and determined the potential productivity of farmland, were closely related to agricultural production. With the growth of population and the development of industrialization and urbanization in China, China’s farmland environment was changed greatly. In summary, it is very important to monitor the soil nutrient.Based on remote sensing(RS), global positioning system(GPS) and geographic information systems(GIS) technology, preliminary design constructed for soil nutrients monitoring system in this paper. By combining basic information and testing data of soil samples from mobile with remote sensing data, soil nutrient monitoring model is established. Then, using spatial data analysis and processing, storage, management and distribution capabilities of GIS, the system were used to realize the monitoring of large scale and large area of soil nutrients.The paper took ASP.NET and Android as the development platform, and combined with theoretical knowledge of RS, GIS and GPS to design and develop the soil nutrient monitoring system based on 3S technology. The main works of this thesis are as follows:(1) The paper analyzed the predecessors’ experience model of farmland nutrients monit oring. Then, Yangling agricultural high-tech industries demonstration zone of Shanxi province as the study area, the paper took soil information and satellite remote sensing image as data source, though spectrum transform and correlation analysis and scree ning the sensitive bands, to achieve the inversion of soil nutrients. Eventually, this paper established the nutrient content of the soil estimation model by using partial least squares. Through estimating soil nutrient content in large-scale, it made us to understand the process and way to build the soil nutrient monitoring model and provided a theoretical basis and data sources for achieving soil nutrient monitoring systems.(2) According to the process of soil nutrient monitoring,the paper designed and built the soil nutrient monitoring systems based on 3S technology, which was divided into three subsystems in accordance with the demand: Farmland nutrient data entry system, Spatial data upload tool and the soil nutrient monitoring system. Three subsystems complement each other to achieve the purpose of estimating the samples in a large area of soil nutrients and the realization of large-scale farmland nutrient space monitoring, which made soil nutrient monitoring business scientific and improved the management and decision-making.The system, after developed, was deployed in Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Industries Demonstration Zone Technology Information Center. The results showed that: is user-friendly and beautiful interface, stability, response speed and other aspects of the basic functions to meet the requirements, may be initially meet user demand for farmland nutrient information. Thematic maps and monitoring report on soil nutrient, which was generated by the system, was intuitive and effective for Soil and Fertilizer Station and agricultural research management organization. The system could make people full understanding of the spatial distribution of soil nutrient. It is good to adjust cultivated land according to local conditions to achieve soil management scientifically. It could provide the basis soil nutrient data for modern precision agriculture, which is of great significance to the sustainable development of agriculture.
