Material Coding System is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)’s basis, from initial designing to software development, from the underlying data to the real implementation of the project, until later maintenance, are inseparable from material coding. Whether design of material coding is rational directly affects the capacity size information and data. If the coding rules and system are too cumbersome, the promotion will be difficult to implement in the enterprise. It is no exaggeration to say that, if a company’s products do not own coding standard, not only conducive to the development of enterprises, but also become a stumbling block to the development of enterprise. Therefore, the designing of material coding system is an important part of the enterprise ERP system, its legitimacy directly determines whether the enterprise ERP implementation can be successful.For the implementation of material coding management system in manufacturing ERP, this paper deeply analyzes and researches the rules of the early material which has been running. From a practical manufacturing materials management and current needs, we complete materials management departments research; on this basis, a careful analysis of the business requirements, management processes and user functional requirements has been done. From the perspective of manufacturing ERP system implementation, we analyze, design and implement the material coding management system for the.This paper research, summarize and organize business processes and technical support means of original material coding management; also analyzes the information needs of enterprise material management, optimizing processes and propose solutions. Combined with the needs and existing ERP systems integration, through secondary development, to achieve centralized data base and professional management. We establish a unified material coding rule also applying and changing material coding system. Meanwhile we design platform, the physical topology and logical architecture relied on to provide a convenient way to code generation for the enterprise ERP project, complete with matching material coding application needs, material coding audit, material coding changing, material coding query functions indicating the specific function of each module and interface operation. This paper realize the business processes of material coding management system.By the application of material coding management system, it standardizes business processes of material coding management and distribution, liberates coding manager from tedious work and improves the management of material coding efficiency. On the other hand, the company’s materials information management through the material code management system, inluding apply, coding, approval, query operation in information system, can improve the timeliness and achieve sector information sharing and collaboration between the business.
