At present, with the rapid urbanization, the public transport system is constantly developing and improving. The main choice of urban residents in China is to use public transport. With the development of Internet technology, people have been used to obtain relevant information from the network, therefore, the public transport query system came into being. The query system based on B/S architecture, it can provide station query, line query, and also station to station query. Meanwhile, the system can obtain related information about stations, can quickly obtain information about bus lines, also can obtain line transfer information.Traditional public transport query system still exists some of the following questions: update frequency is low, bus lines can’t be updated in real time and it reduces the availability of the system; don’t provide map display, the system can’t be combined with geographic information system(GIS), unable to show abundant map data, lack of user experience; query results are not ideal, such as station query results are not the relatively optimal results, many better travel programs did not be showed. Web GIS is a combination of GIS technology and Web technology, as long as you are able to use internet, you can use the geographic information system, to simplify the use of GIS data. Using the web programming language, developing the query system applied to city public transport, at the same time, combined with Web GIS technology, people can conveniently search travel information through the browser.We designed the city public transportation query system mainly includes the following modules: the site query, the line query, the station query, and the map display.(1) Site query, by inputting the site name, we can get the site’s detail information, such as the site name, getting all lines through the site on the map.(2) Line query, by inputting the line name, we can get the line’s detail information, such as the line name, the departure time, the return time, getting all sites through the line on the map.(3) Station to station query, by inputting the initial site and termination site, we can get all lines through the two sites. At the same time, through the transfer query, such as one or two times transfer, we can get travel programs by the least transfer, the shortest time and the shortest distance, while displaying the route on the map.(4) Map display, this module is the core function of the system, by calling the API interface provided by Web GIS, it can display more intuitive map instead of the fuzzy text information. We can operate on the map for ease of use.
