The development of information technology and its more widely application of geoscience data makes the development of earth science data digitization. A lot of spatial data has been generated during the process of information in different departments and units. These spatial data are all with the complexity of multi-species and multi-field. The original intention of spatial data producing in every department is to serve their own department and the fix domain. But during the process of department information, either data processing or establishment of data management system has a big difference, which causes these spatial data can’t be widely shared and used. Data produced by different department has the drawbacks of cross domain and duplication of production. These problems continue to accumulate, eventually leading to data is difficult to manage and can’t be shared, which have already block the research and caused information island phenomenon. Thus, Research on Data Exchange, Retrieve and Application Model of Spatial Data Sharing Platform has been carried out in this paper to focus on the problem in spatial data management and sharing.Spatial metadata is an important foundation for spatial data management. The paper carries out research on model of spatial metadata exchange to meet the requirement of spatial metadata exchange function. Thereby, core data structure of spatial data management of the spatial data sharing platform was formed. During the process of research, model of MDA has been used in the model to model exchanging. And the middle model of the exchanging model is defined by using XML technology and geological metadata criterion. Meanwhile, main business process and transfer rules of the model have been defined. All the main functions have been implementing basing on the Object-Oriented design approach.Spatial data retrieve model is basing on two step query approach. It includes Non-precision query retrieve and precision query retrieve approaches through comparing MBR intersection and spatial geometry object intersection. All the business process steps have been designed in the business logical processing of the model. The rules of MBR intersection and spatial geometry object intersection are also defined specifically. Basing on the theory of spatial data retrieve model, interfaces and approaches have been designed.Spatial data project information management model is designed to manage de project information about spatial data. In this model, association between spatial data and project has been built as the spatial data is achievement of project to manage the source and application field of spatial data.After these being designed, they have been used in spatial data sharing platform to implement functions of metadata exchange, spatial data retrieve and project information management along with the framework and database design of the platform. Under.Net framework, spatial data sharing platform is implement by using C# coding language and ArcGIS API. And the database of the platform is established in Oracle database management system.Application of these designed models proof that all designs meet the function requirement, and establish the foundation of spatial data management and sharing in the platform. At last, this paper analyzes the opportunities in GIS and spatial data sharing in the Cloud Computing period. And suggestion about solving spatial data sharing and application problem have been put forward by using the high reliability, high computing ability and mass storage of Cloud Computing.
