Study On Application Of Metadata On Management Of Multimedia Electronic Files

For the past few years,the unstructured multimedia electronic files with multiform type have been popular,which takes a large impact on the traditional mode and notion on files management. With the development of the metadata technology,the effectual action of metadata for orderly management of multimedia electronic files has been more and more deeply acknowledged.With the acceleration development of study on metadata in archivist domain,the functions of metadata have been recognized profoundly. Although the expressions are different,the functions of metadata can be reduced to three main aspects:security assurance,information retrieval and data exchange. This thesis based on the three main functions of metadata intends to expound the value of metadata by introducing the applications in this three aspects,and analyze systematically the application modes of metadata on different function aspects for management of various types electronic files.As a result,It can accelerate the archive administration modernization process.
