Research And Development Of Bottle Cap Structure CAD System

The traditional bottle cap structures are mainly designed by the method of modification design, which leading to a long design cycle and lower market competition power of enterprises.This article mainly researchs on the bottle cap structure design on the state of backward situation of our country in the CAD technology.Based on the research of the design and processing situation of bottle cap in the enterprises, the caps have been divided into five categories of plastic cover,metal cover,cork lid,glass lid and ceramic cover, classified by their materials,and then by the common types of a variety of materials.In the design of bottle cap structures that should matche the bottlenecks.Parts of the bottlenecks structures and the corresponding geometric dimensions have been standardized,which have to be confirmed according to standard.However, parametric design can be used for the other forms and dimensions to realize. Through the characteristics of bottle cap, the 3D CAD software SolidWorks was chosen as the second-development platform.At the same time, Visual Basic program technique and database management technique of Access were utilized.By the secondary development function of SoliWorks API and the methord based on dynamic link library, a seamlessly integrated bottle cap structure design system (BCSCAD) can be built.The system, as a professional CAD software of bottle cap structure, design from the view point of users and use dialog manner to achieve parametric-interactive design of bottle cap.Combination of the cap characteristics, parametrical feature library based on feature, parameter database and parameterization technique to generate cap were developed.Parameterized cap feature library is developed with SolidWorks characterization and parameterization technology, and it can provide the users with well defined cap feature to complete the design of part.If necessary, at the same time, the library can be extended by ursers in the future.Parameter database module is used for calling and managing the cap databases, which are classified as standard and the user defined. Dimension-driven methord of SolidWorks secondary development is used in Parameter-driven design module.It calls the parameters of cap-type element at first.By the dialog box, the parameters modified are associated with the model, displayed directly on the system interface, and the intelligent design process has been realized.
