Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has a wide application prospect and practical value in many areas such as the military and national defense, medical, and environmental monitoring because of the advantages of self-organization, small size, and low cost. Thus, it becomes a hot research field in computing science. Based on IEEE802.15.4 standard short distance, low complexity, low-power, low-rate, and low-cost features, ZigBee protocol wireless sensor networks is the preferred network protocol in practice. WSN availability is the focus of WSN Quality of Service (QoS), and it is an important research direction.Based on background above and literature review, the thesis researches and analyzes ZigBee protocol and wireless sensor networks. The thesis provides QoS guarantees in wireless sensor networks by investigating ZigBee protocol. The major contents of this research are as follows. The characteristics and key technologies in wireless sensor are investigated as well as ZigBee protocol and several other wireless communication protocols. The research focuses on the protection of the QoS mechanisms for wireless sensor networks. The QoS routing strategy, parameters selection and evaluation approaches in wireless sensor networks have been investigated. Several classic algorithms for QoS routing are researched. The thesis improves wireless sensor network routing algorithm based on ant colony optimization. The algorithm has obvious advantages that reduces the link congestion block, and improves node energy and the network performance. The QoS routing algorithm is also improved based on genetic algorithm. The algorithm can meet the requirements of the conditions for the QoS. The minimum energy consumption is achieved through the node selection and scheduling mechanism. The results satisfy network load balancing purposes.NS2 simulation experimental shows that the improved algorithm has a good performance in data transmission, avoiding congestion block, network load balancing and extending the network life cycle.
