With the development of technology about satellite and high-altitude aircraft, reconnaissance satellites and aircraft have been widely use in the military field, then camouflage technology have increasingly high requirements. At present, camouflage has become an important indicator for measuring a country’s camouflage technology level.As a new means of camouflage, digital camouflage has advantages that include against aerial photography and satellite remote sensing imagery reconnaissance. Since the digital camouflage begin, according to target and background level of integration, camouflage application test have been designed the disguised by researchers, then pattern camouflage effect was evaluated.Because the disadvantages of applicability of the camouflage effect evaluation method, in this paper, digital image processing technology was used, though the background image information of camouflage target were extracted (including texture features, structural characteristics and the second-order differential signal characteristics). The similarity of background area and camouflage objectives was obtained by establishing camouflage effect evaluation model that has applicability of the digital.Firstly, typical background image was collected, image noise was filtered, color space was conversed after pre-processing, then the image generated to be tested; Secondly, through the improvement of detection method of the original single view, detection method of double figure variation difference was proposed for segmentation camouflage region, to improve the detection accuracy of the camouflage region. Improved the original feature extraction algorithms, the introduction of a gradient value the vector distance determination weights, so that the results are more in line with the human visual characteristics. When the image was operating, the window was traversed by using a different resolution. Finally, after the covariance matrix and the singular value calculation, the ultimate camouflage evaluation results were obtained.By established digital camouflage effect evaluation model based on image features can be scientific, objective evaluation of digital camouflage pattern camouflage effect. Camouflage area detection method has high precision and region segmentation ability; image feature extraction algorithms have general applicability, and provide reference and improvement for digital camouflage technology.
