With the development of urban and rural power distribution network, the increase of power system capacity, and the expansion of the scale of users, the reliability and quality of power supply are becoming more and more import, and the automation of power distribution is becoming a new hotspot in the field of the automation of power system. However, as the lack of suitable networking solutions, the power distribution communication network that is the most important part of the power system, is becoming a weak link in power communication network and restrict the development of the smart power network in the power distribution and power application. In some areas of our country, such as the southern mountains area, the sub stations of power distribution is more dispersed and remote, the construction of cable lines, such as cable and optical fiber, will have high cost, difficult construction and inconvenient later maintenance and so on. And the wireless service provided by the three major traditional telecom operators will face the problems that the signal can’t cover completely and the communication quality is difficult to guarantee.To resolve the above problems, based on the special positioning and short message communication function of the "BD-1" satellite system which our country developed independently, this thesis provides a highly reliable and well secure communication method for main station and terminal in automation system of power distribution. Both it realized telemetry and telesignalling data real-time uploading of terminal of power distribution, also it realized the main station of power distribution monitoring and sending remote controller command to the terminal of power distribution.The main content and contributions of this thesis include the following:1. Based on the analysis of the communication mode of the current power distribution automation, the working principle and the advantage in the special field of the BD-1 system is described in detail.2. As the special requirements of the BD-1 system antenna to the installation environment, the terminal is made up of the protocol converter and the compass data transmission user machine.3. According to the "Three Remote" information of the 104 Statute and the communication frequency limit of the BD-1 system, this thesis modify the process of the Power 104 Statute to adapt to the BD-1 system.4. To convert between the communication protocol of the BD-1 system and the protocol of the Power 104 Statute, realize the FTU/DTU data exchange between the command center of the main station of power distribution and the substation of power distribution, and achieve the self-healing ability of power distribution network.This thesis is originate from the practical application of enterprise projects. Based on the "BD-1" satellite system which our country developed independently, it provides a highly reliable and well secure communication method for main station and terminal in automation system of power distribution. It has great significance to the effective use of power sources and power safety.
