Semiconductor lasers have advantages in price and electro-optical conversion efficiency, which is widely used in the civilian economy and the development of national defense science and technology. High-power laser diode and fiber coupling has been widely used in the field of solid-state laser pumping, laser processing, surgery, military equipment, etc. However, due to laser beam quality of high power semiconductor is poor such that it’s a large number of fiber coupling loss, limiting the application of high-power semiconductor lasers.CLF (wedge-shaped cylindrical lens fiber) has outstanding performance in a number of laser diode coupling, with its unique structural features of the semiconductor laser surgery, improving the coupling efficiency.This article focuses on high power LD coupled with the CLF. The wedge-shaped cylindrical lens fiber coupling analysis system is analyzed with optical matrix approximation of paraxial theory. Use ABCD matrix theory of Gaussian beam to determine the impact of structural parameters of CLF coupling efficiency of system. Utilize MATLAB software to establish high-power semiconductor lasers and cylindrical wedge lens fiber coupling model, and design a kind of simulation software to simulate the couple between LD and CLF. The cylindrical wedge lensed fiber model is designed by Solidworks and is simulated by optical design software ZEMAX.The simulation software consists of a main screen and three function interface components. By entering parameters of LD and CLF, obtained relationship between the coupling efficiency with coupling distance, in coupling analysis interface.In the displacement offset error analysis interface, we can get specific offset coupling efficiency and displacement offset errors on the coupling efficiency. The angular offset errors on the coupling efficiency are available in the angle offset error analysis interface.By comparison with the experimental data, based on ABCD matrix theory proved developed cylindrical wedge lensed fiber coupling system simulation software is reasonably practicable. Effect of the wedge-shaped cylindrical lens fiber structure on coupling efficiency of system is obtained by the simulation Software, and guide wedge-shaped cylindrical fiber manufacture.
