With the development of industrial IT technology and industrial integrated automation system, more and more intelligent devices (sensors, flow meters, etc.) with communication capabilities have been applied to the industrial field. On the one hand, this trend will increase the degree of dispersion of the industrial field equipment, and increase the technical difficulty of the interconnection between equipment. On the other hand, the greater the degree of dispersion of equipment, the more complex the wiring of the plant network, which will hinder the future of the factory automation upgrades. At the same time, the use of large-scale intelligent equipment is bound to bring a great deal of data throughput and processing, real-time, safety and stability requirements also increased, which proposed a more demanding challenges to the original fieldbus technology. However, PROFINET technology can provide comprehensive network architecture layout for industrial control and civil communication field, meanwhile,as the cross vendor Industrial Ethernet technology, It can compatible with other existing industrial Ethernet technology and other fieldbus technology, it played a very good protection to the factory fixed asset. At the same time, control network based on the technique can realize the factory network layout using one network from the management level to the scene, so as to simplify the complex network wiring, cost savings, but also conducive to future automation upgrades. However, as a new industrial Ethernet technology, a lot of supporting equipment is still in the development stage, especially the development of PROFINET slave station interface module. Therefore, this paper proposed a scheme that can be implemented, through the network control board with built-in PROFINET firmware in NETX51 and application board with LPC1788 of NXP as the core, a type of equipment will seamlessly access to PROFINET control network. And finally, the feasibility of the plan is demonstrated. Something needs to be explained that the title of this article is relative to the PROFINET master, in fact, it is an interface module.The main content of this paper is to design a PROFINET slave station interface module, and use the module to achieve data exchange with MODBUS equipment. Hardware mainly uses NETX51 network controller and lpc 1788 as the core chip. The software mainly uses the PROFINET protocol firmware and the application program to realize the seamless connection of the equipment.
