3D applications on mobile terminals are apps that show user interfaces with 3D visual effect by simulating man’s visual reactions of the real 3D space. As intelligent mobile phones are playing a more and more significant part in human life,3D applications on them are also growing rapidly. 3D applications have a similar vision construction to the physical world, that why 3D applications can do better than 2D applications in improving user experience when it comes to spatial simulation and physical simulation, and bring users a shocking visual experience.But the developing 3D applications still remain in an embryonic stage, in which no mature thought or systemic theory of 3D interactions has been built yet to provide scientific guidance.This paper takes the interactive modes and interaction design methods of the 3D applications as research object, and gives:(a) a general survey of the history that shows the development of mobile device and mobile internet; (b) a compare of interactive mode in PC and mobile terminals, an analysis of 3D applications’ interactive modes in mobile terminals according to the characteristics of the platform and hardware performance; (c) a summary of 3D interaction categories and patterns through an analysis of a number of 3D applications usage cases.; (d) a complete principle and strategy of 3D interaction design based on the combination of mobile characteristics and user experience pattern; (e) a practical set of mobile 3D interactive design process, and practically use it to interactive design for mobile 3D applications; (f) last but not least, offering an objective evaluation system of mobile 3D applications’interactive modes based on the System Usability Scale proposed by Nielsen and verification on real instance.The contributions of this paper include:(a) optimizing the system of mobile 3D interaction design field. (b) making a technical analysis of the interactive mode of the mobile 3D application based on a large number of examples;(c) offering a design principle and strategy of mobile 3D interaction design base on the classic interaction guidance and Characteristics of mobile terminal platform. (d) offering an objective evaluation system for 3D applications,and applying this evaluation system to the real cases.
