The popularity of smart shopping mall will be inevitable with the development of the Internet of Things and the decreasing price of chip. The influence of the Internet of Things will cover many aspects, such as logistics and transport, warehouse management, marketing management et al, meanwhile, some kind of brand-new shopping mode and experience will be brought to us. All of these have put forward new requirements to the information management system of the shopping mall.Thought the survey of the detailed procedure of marketing activity has been analyzed and abstracted based on the normal rules of retail industry with the development and need of the Internet of Things, the New Orleans method is used to analyze and abstract the key parts of the smart shopping mall’s products management. And then, completed the design and implementation of the key subsystem of the smart shopping mall products management system, and the information system was tested and passed, in order to provide technical support for the the Internet of Things application in retail industry.Database design is an important work of the system. Because of the implementation of the Internet of things, the original shopping mall database system has been unable to meet the new requirements and the need to redesign. In this paper, the design of the database part will be based on the New Orleans method.New Orleans method divides the database design into four stages: requirement analysis, conceptual design, logical design and physical database design. In this paper, we will design the products management information system database based on this method.On the stages of requirement analysis, through myrmidon operations, open investigation, access to records and other methods, we analyzed the existing shopping mall organization and business activities with the processing demand after the the Internet of Things application, and the function for the shopping mall products management procedure was confirmed. At the same time, the non-functional requirements of the information system are also analyzed.In order to complete the information system design, the key technologies of the system are described in this paper, including database design technology and RFID technology.Combined with the user requirements and system architecture design,we established E-R model by a ‘top to bottom’ design mode to identify the entity and property and to define the hierarchy and relationship between entities and entities. At the same time, the transformation from the conceptual E-R model to data model and the following optimization, and the embodiment and illustration of entity and its property will be finished though the tables for database.The stages of the information system implementation including interface design and code design according to the system architecture and data model. Finally, is the software testing of the database prototype system, including function testing and performance testing.Throughout our research, the complete E-R model, detailed logistic design and information system have been provided to the module of shopping mall products management with the application of the Internet of Things and the entities and their properties have been tabulated and illustrated in detail. The feasibility and convenience of the Internet of Things brought to enterprise would help the application and popularization of the Internet of Things project.
