Research And Development Of The Data Warehouse For The Monitoring Service Of Liaoning Highway

After long-term exploration and optimization, a relatively wide and independent information system has been established and applied in highway management in Liaoning Province. However, it is still in the state of information island because there is no data exchange and sharing among different systems. In order to meet the further development of transportation industry and requirements of the information age, it is needed to build a data warehouse and data analysis system to promote the efficiency, provide the support for the decision-making and system implementation, and then realize the information sharing, data collection and centralized management.This study is based on the analysis of the characteristics and requirements of different departments in Liaoning highway. The design of highway data base is the integration of multiple data sources into a unified data warehouse, such as traffic flow, road toll database, etc. The database include the modeling of key indicators and the multi dimension analysis in time and space level, the development of key performance indicators (KPI) to meet industry standards, the modeling and scientific assessment on traffic flow and road toll in multi-dimension. This data warehouse could provide flexible analysis function and display the KPI set by statistical report. The key indicators in multi-dimension are displayed by multiple analytical techniques. All the above will be integrated and displayed in all kinds of analysis reports.
