With the rapid development of network communication technology and instrumentation technology, virtual instrument has many advantages, such as cost-effective, the fast speed of update,low cost of maintenance and improves the efficiency of system development dramatically. Thus, it is used widely in communication, automation, aerospace, process control, circuit design. The design of virtual instrument has important practical significance and research value. This paper presents the design of LabVIEW application software, which is based on the distributed testing system. In this design, not only complete the functions such as data acquisition, display, storage and processing, with the software engineering thought to write program is more important,. So it can make a complex system simpler and make new programming which is used in other field or different application easier.This paper complete the design of software through understanding the basic concept and content such as the principle of software engineering, software life cycle, the models of software development, and the methods of software development. Defining the design of software interface, structural design, date design, the design of file I / O and the algorithm of each module according to the scientific method of software engineering. The design of application software system based on Lab VIEW can realize the USB communication through Dynamic-link Library, complete TCP communication through Socket technology, achieve the dynamic compensation of signal by the PSO algorithm and ActiveX technology, implement the mixed programming of LabVIEW and MATLAB using COM component, and optimize the software.Lots of experiments which are based on the distributed testing system verify the communication function of this application software. The results show that the system is reliable and stable in performance; it is more perfect in function, so it can meet the basic needs, such as testing and analysis of signals.
