As virtualization and cloud computing technology turn be more and more mature, a growing number of cloud service providers and telecom operators began to provide public cloud services, providing network function and IT application on a server at the same time has become a trend. In order to adapt to the industry development trend and problems in the development,H3C company introduced a new VSR 1000 generation of virtual router product, in order to help enterprises to establish secure, unity and scalable hybrid cloud and streamline branch infrastructure at the same time. Because of the the virtual router is a relatively new product, the testing work of virtual router is more important. As management information base of virtual router VSR, MIB carries lots of VSR’s information, monitoring its startup and shutdown, the number and condition of interface, traffic forwarding and loss rate. Thus, the test of virtual router MIB plays an important role, influencing the quality of virtual router VSR’s software. virtual router MIB’s features are multiple nodes, abundant regulation information, however, manual test has to confirm every nodes’information one by one, which needs complex operation and is easy to get test error. In order to correct imperfections of manual test, we will combine virtual router MIB’s own characteristics and company’s ATF automation test framework, to provide virtual router MIB’s test automation solution, which is specific to CAS virtual platform.Virtual router MIB’s test automation solution main includes case test design, MIB automatic script test design and MIB automation environment test design. According to MIB test’s characters, test case usually uses black box testing method. MIB automatic script test program mainly designs the file structure of automatic script test according to ATF automatic test framework including topology file and test bed file. Then TCL scripting language is used to write virtual router MIB’s automatic test script according to MIB automatic test case. Different script topology files makes up test set. MIB automatic test environment program designs actual physical environment on the basis of topology file. During the MIB automatic test, one of VSR virtual router’s router interfaces is required to connect with the same network segment of the computer in test, which provides access to the MIB function library packaged in general test platform, leading to the success of automatic script operation. The thesis also designs SETUP and CLEAR file according to the features of MIB automatic scripts, which simplifies the file structure and help reduce the errors from configuration files. Finally, the thesis also tracks and manages the result of MIB automatic test.The program of virtual router MIB automatic test not only corrects the imperfection of MIB manual test, but also provides an efficient automatic test method, improves testing efficiency. At the present, the automatic test program has been applied in actual MIB test, which successfully guarantees the quality of virtual router.
