The Design Of Virtual Router Platform And Key Technology Research

In recent years, with the growth of various of Internet applications and service, such as data center, cloud computing, Internet becomes more and more important in our life. However, existing Internet architectures lack the flexibility to support the innovation, which results in poor support of deployability and manageability. Network virtualization is a promising way to overcome the resistance of the Internet. With the application of network virtualization, virtual network embedding and virtual routing lookup have become hot research fields.Based on virtual router platform, this thesis analysis the virtual network embedding and virtual routing lookup, and we manage the resource by the management system.Followings are the main work and innovations:1. Based on the virtual router platform, design a bandwidth guarantees and load balancing virtual network embedding algorithm. As we use Xen virtualization technology and the opology of platform is kinds of fat-tree, we take the resource allocation problem as the resource embedding problem in data center. We define a threshold to ensure the load balancing, and achieve the bandwidth guarantees by Xen.2. Based on the virtual router platform, study the routing lookup algorithms and propose a virtual router lookup algorithm based on bloom filters. By merging the FIBs and adopting an extra bloom filter, the algorithm reduce the off-chip memory accesses, also, we adjust the bloom filter to improve the algorithm performance.3. Based on the virtual router platform, design and implement the management system to manage the resource and deal with the users’ requests. Management system is composed of a user-end subsystem, a central control subsystem, and an equipment management subsystem. The central control subsystem is the core of the management system, and they communicate with each other by socket.
