Design Of Older Households Smart Home Control System Operator Interface

In the social context of the aging of the population intensified, the elderly home life issues become more and more important. Emergence and development of Smart Home brought new ideas to solve the problems of the elderly home life, and it can assist the elderly living at home. However, if the elderly will apply Smart Home, its usability problems should be solved.This paper is based on Usability Engineering, and the center is the research of the elderly, and the main target is to improve the usability of older households Smart Home control system operator interface, and it has studied the related content on older households Smart Home control system operator interface. First, I analyzed features of Smart Home and problems that the elderly facing when they use Smart Home, so I could discuss design elements of Smart Home for the elderly; While basing on Usability Engineering, I analyzed usability factors of Smart Home for the elderly. Then, by analyzing needs of the target group at home, I discussed and summarized some control functions for the elderly in Smart Home; At the same time, combining with the characteristics of elderly people, I explored the methods and means to control the smart home for older users. Then, combining with the above contents and using the idea of task analysis method, I analyzed the process of the elderly using the control terminals of Smart Home, and I obtained a general mandate. For availability issues in the mandate, I explored some ways to increase the usability of Smart Home for the elderly. Finally, I did a design practice of operator interface of Smart Home for the elderly, combining the theory and practice, so that I could verify and improve the theoretical research. It can make the elderly getting a better operating experience, introducing the Usability Engineering to the study of Smart Home for the elderly and improving its usability for older users.
