The COMPASS satellite navigation system will play an important role in security and guard of our country.The critical techniques for COMPASS satellite system to provide high-performance global positioning service are communication routing and information transmission techniques of COMPASS navigation system network. In respond to the special structure of COMPASS navigation system which is made up of GEO satellites, IGSO satellites and MEO satellites, a router algorithm based on the mode of grouping manage is put forward in this paper. And then the simulation and design of router algorithm is conducted in OPNET Modeler. At the end, the performance of the proposed router algorithm is analysed detailedly in the thesis.Firstly, the trait of ISLs changing in COMPASS navigation system is discussed. According to constellation structure and kinds of ISLs, the connectivities of ISLs established between MEO satellites,IGSO satellites,GEO satellites and other satellite nodes are discussed at length. The traits of these ISLs are summarized, either.Secondly, a router algorithm based on the mode of grouping manage is proposed in this paper. Because every MEO satellite can be accessed to one or more than one GEO satellite at any moment, a mode of grouping manage and control is put forward. The basic idea is that MEO satellites are only responsible for collecting their own delay information. The information is sent to the leader of MEO satellites group. Then group leader of MEO satellite group completes collection of delay information and sends it to its manager —a GEO satellite. All GEO satellites could share constellation delay measurement table information, complete routing table calculation and distribute the routing table to MEO satellites. Then, corresponding routing algorithm, which consists of seven steps,is put forward. And for the MEO satellite failure or GEO satellite failure situation, how to use this router algorithm for updating routing table is discussed explicitly.Thirdly, By using STK and OPNET simulation tool,the COMPASS navigation satellite network modeling is completed. At first, satellite orbit design of COMPASS navigation system is fulfilled in STK. Then import satellite orbit into OPNET, the network model of COMPASS navigation satellite network is obtained. Finally, using the simulation model, performance analysis and evaluation of the routing algorithm is presented in this thesis. The simulation results show that the information transmission between the MEO satellites and ground control station has the feature of less average hops and end-to-end delay.Especially on the occasion of satellite failure, routing algorithm can significantly reduce the communication overhead caused by routing table update compared to the OPSF algorithm.Therefore, it could avoid the link congestion.
