Pattern Synthesis For Conformal Arraysmounted On Conical Carriers

Conformal array antennas have attracted more and more attention in both military and civil use, for the characteristic advantage of good electrical performance without influencing the aerodynamics of the carriers. Conical conformal arrays which refer to the antennas mounted on conical carriers play an important role in guided missiles, aircrafts and so on. Thus it is of great significance for national defense in carrying research on conical conformal arrays.In this thesis, some work regarding to conical conformal arrays has been done.1. The pattern analysis of conical conformal arrays is accomplished by coordinate transformation and principle of pattern superposition. The format of radiation pattern of each element can be measured discrete data by the application of interpolation technique. The analytical results of the cylinder and conical conformal arrays agree well with that of simulation, which verified the validity of the analysis algorithm.2. Some improvements were carried out to the Simple Genetic Algorithm(SGA), including the combination of two different select operators rather than the traditional single-based selector as well as the adaptive probability of crossover and mutation instead of the constant ones. The example indicated that the improved GA is preferable in convergence rate and ability of the global optimum seeking.3. The improved GA is applied to the pattern synthesis of low side lobe and zero points of the conical conformal arrays. Expected pattern could be achieved by optimizing the excitation amplitude of each element.4. A kind of software for pattern analysis and synthesis of conical conformal arrays is developed by C++ language on the foundation of the aforementioned algorithms. The process and user interface of the software are introduced in detail.
