In Tangshan steel, continuous casting and rolling production line of 1700 mm which hot test successed at the end of 2005, the production line used Germany Siemens electrical control technology, is a hot rolling production line which controled technology is complex in the domestic leading position. Computer software is a very important link in the whole production process, it will be casting area, furnace, rolling mill and coiler area through close communication and link for an organic whole, and plays the calculation of plate and strip rolling process of slab continuous casting of original data set provided by and heating furnace, and the operator input coil target data. Steelmaking, continuous casting and the electrical control system of the 1700 production lines are not matched with the main control system, the database is not the same, in the production process, 1700 mm hot line two system only at the operational level of single slab data copy is added to the production operation system, lack of batch production of slab data entry function, need manual transcribing PDI data, so we need a perfect software to compare the problem.At the first of the paper, through researching of ORACL database and the local area network communication theory, technology realize the production management system of steel rolling, the whole system includes a data plan management, rolling roll data input management, product data management, PDI data reception and management, regional tracking display and class newspaper daily management of the main function module.Then the paper illustrated in detail from the system architecture design to concrete realization., we can learn that the data in the design, the system function module design, interface design, network information exchange between systems, system function, system configuration of data transmission between table design structure is briefly discussed.In the end, the paper mainly introduce that how to operate the mill production system, how to maintain the system.
