The cold rolling is the final production process in the iron and steel industry, which has product added high value and intense market competition. The production technical process of cold rolling is more complex than other normal steel and iron production, whose has characteristics of many product specifications, small batch and strict order due date. Therefore, developing production plan and scheduling system for cold roiling process is effective to improve product quality, increase producing ability and guarantee order due date. Based on the national "863 high technique plan", this dissertation focus on the plan and scheduling questions of cold rolling process and has mainly carried on the following research.The software modeling and developing method of production planning and scheduling systems for process industry are studied. A method of object-oriented modeling in production planning and scheduling systems for process industry is proposed in this paper. With this method, we can build general object classes for this system by summarizing line-length attribute. An application of this method is demonstrated in a cold rolling steel sheet plant. It is shown that these designed object classes are consistent with actual production and this advances the developing efficiency for production planning and scheduling systems.The developing process of production planning and scheduling systems of process industry is complex and difficult to be reused. The software architecture technique is studied firstly, a configuration pattern technique is proposed for developing of production planning and scheduling system of process industry in this dissertation. The new software system can be built rapidly by drawing configuration method combined defined algorithms. The general configuration pattern software for designing production planning and scheduling system Of process industry is given. It is shown that this technique and software increase the developing efficiency for production planning and scheduling system of process industry.Based on research of process industry, a dynamic forecasting of unit production capacity is proposed in this dissertation for the unit production capacity problem. A general virtual production planning scheduling model is proposed for the production planning and scheduling system. With this model, we can produce virtually by planning and scheduling result, which carry through virtual productions for the product planning and makes it possible to approves plan rationality and forecasting order due date by analyze simulation production results.The typical multi-procedure, multi-object, multi-constraint, re-entry, multi-machine parallel scheduling problem of production logistics dynamic balance scheduling is studied in this dissertation. A node-flow control and change concept are proposed and a logistics scheduling model is built. A production logistics optimal scheduling method for process industries is suggested by using a multi-object and multi-stage optimal algorithm. Based on this method, an actual cold rolling production planning and scheduling software system is deveolped. The software system is effective to improve productivity, cut down production costs and assures order due date.
