With the progress and development of science and technology, the product is becoming more and more small. In the field of optical, for the commonly used polarization filter, it is effective only to a small frequency range or scope of a certain incident Angle. Also its volume is bigger and is not conducive to realize optical integration. However, when we use the photonic crystal fiber to make the polarization filter, it can not only achieve the goal of being small volume, easy integration but also can realize the effect of filtering in a wide wavelength range and the effect of artificial tunable. At the same time, in our daily life that the biochemical detection of liquid analytes is indespensable. For example, how to realize the real-time online detection in environmental water quality detection and medical diagnosis is the goal we have been pursuing and improving. In this paper, the simulation and analysis for the photonic crystal fiber polarization filter and sensor are done by using the commercial software of COMSOL Multiphysics and put forward a empirical concept of asymmetric factor. The main contents of the paper are as follows:Firstly, the background of photonic crystal fiber, the important research value in the field of optical and its latest development are introduced.Secondly, the concepts of surface plasmon polaritons and surface plasmon resonance are introduced and also we put forward a kind of elliptic structure polarization filter.Again, we try to prove important influence of design and optimization on the photonic crystal fiber filter through the design of a variety of different structure of photonic crystal fiber filterFinally, a kind of liquid refractive index detection sensor is designed. Numerical simulation results show that the sensitivity of the designed sensor is much higher than the common sensors.The results of this paper are useful to the device miniaturization and real-time on-line detection。...
