With the development of the technology of Internet of things, the demands of automatic identification of goods information are becoming higher and higher. Traditional automatic identification technology, such as barcode technology, magnetic stripe card, RFID technology, has many kinds of limitations, especially not suitable in harsh environments(under water, space, etc.). In order to compensate these limitations, researchers in author’s lab puts forward the concept of “metal tags”, the research of the metal tags need to collect testing data, the traditional data collection system requires collection sensor and the object being measured is relatively static. But in the process of collecting the data of the metal tags, collection sensor should accurately traverse the tested object, so the traditional data collection system cannot satisfy the demands of the data acquisition of metal tags.The data acquisition platform of metal tags is studied in hardware and software aspects at the basis of introducing and analyzing the motion control, data collection and signal preprocessing technology. At hardware aspect, after the features of the platform, and requirements of each feature are discussed, a appropriate platform is set up with three parts: general purpose computer, motion control card(the core part of the motion control module), data acquisition card(the core part of the data acquisition module). On the software side, a program is written for the data acquisition platform of metal tags, the program has three functions: set parameters of the movement and control the movement, set parameters of the acquisition and control the acquisition, process the collected data in FFT algorithm.In order to verify the availability of the data acquisition platform, a sinusoidal signal is collected by the data acquisition platform under the control of the program, and the data is processed in FFT algorithm. By analyzing the results of the acquisition and processing, a conclusion can be drawn. The conclusion is that the data acquisition platform can achieve three functions required by the data acquisition of metal tags, so this platform can meet demands of the data acquisition of metal tags. The research of the metal tag is effectively promoted, and so is the automatic identification technology and Internet of Things.
