Analysis Of The Media’s Responsibility In The Dramatic Reversal News Reporting

Providing information to the public has been said a bounded duty of the mass media,especially in today’s information age, people increasingly rely on the mass media, which has a profound impact on people’s perception to the external environment. But in recent years, it has turned out such a phenomenon of news: With the accumulation of the cases, a lot of highly concerned hot events whose truth were finally confirmed by media reporting a far cry from the original expectation, and even black and white reversed, and finally involved people into unexpected situations. The so-called "dramatic reversal news" by its very nature is a kind of false news. Since authenticity is a foundation for the media, the flooding of "dramatic reversal news" is a serious threat to the credibility of the media.In this paper, with methods of case study, text analysis and others, based on the proposed combination of drama theory and theories of journalistic professionalism, the author intends to analyze the "dramatic reversal news". A systematic analysis of this emerging phenomenon points out the development of the regular pattern and its features, the harm and the reasons behind its appearance, and presents some rationalized proposals, of which a key point is deeply analyzed.The paper holds that "dramatic reversal news" begins with of false reporting of the media, and ends in the media re-assuming their accusations.
