Currently, the Internet and cloud computing are growing vigorously. With the rapid rise of the mobile Internet and the arrival of big data era, great energy has been brought into the Internet world. As the fundamental project of the Internet and cloud computing, Data Center has become a hot research field, and confronted with enormous opportunities and also challenges. Data Center Network(DCN) is the core element of the Data Center, it is necessary to make sure the massive of high-performance servers playing their full power, but also to provide a reliable and efficient data transmission services for applications. The large-scale DCN has caused tremendous pressure in network configuration management. Repetitive manual configuration is not only time-consuming, but also error-prone and resulting in incalculable losses. How to achieve fast and accurate auto-configuration during the DCN’s initialization, and how to configure the network conveniently and efficiently in the operation and maintenance process, is a worthy thesis that need further study and then resolution.Based on the analysis and summary of DCN’s relevant technique and research status, the thesis takes further study on the key issue of network configuration management. The main research work of this thesis is as follows:First, the thesis proposed a configuration management model called CMMDC(Configuration Management Model for Data Center Network). The model uses a hierarchical structure of loosely coupled, achieves automation and visualization of configuration management through interaction between the layers. On this basis, the thesis further proposed a XML-based configuration policy unified description method which solves the command inconsistencies of different equipment manufacturers, effectively reduced the burden of administrators.Secondly, in order to satisfy the configuration demand of new added device, the thesis proposed an Adaptive Topology Discovery method(ATD) which can improve the efficiency of topology discovery and alleviate the load of network. On the basis, the thesis proposed two optimized forwarding strategy algorithm called BUD and DUD, both which can avoid deadlock and achieve efficient forwarding result.Finally, the thesis designed and implemented a configuration management system for DCN called CMS, which is on the base of the configuration management model called CMMDC and the XML-based configuration policy unified description method. The CMS provides a visual configuration management platform for network administrators. CMS can achieve the generation of configuration policy, translation, implementation and verification, greatly improved the efficiency of DCN configuration management. Through deploying in the actual DCN, the effectiveness of CMS is verified.
