Nowadays, companies are pushing ahead with 3D model as the core of integration of design and manufacturing technology in the process of radar parts design and manufacture. Among them, the rapid generation technology for 3D process model is an important part to achieve 3D technology. The current process of 3D model generation has some problems, such as low efficiency and poor practical. In this paper, on the base of national defense scientific research project, combining with the characteristics of typical radar parts manufacture process, we researched the rapid generation technology for 3D process model of radar parts. The specific work content is as follows:(1) The method for generating 3D process model is studied. The reverse solving expression of parts process model is deduced and the overall process for 3D process model rapid generation is given.(2) The feature recognition technology of 3D process model is studied. Feature recognition and extraction of 3D model is implemented by the research of geometric feature extraction algorithm and processing information extraction method. Feature mapping method and steps are given. The mapping process of Different features is achieved by matching feature classification and manufacture feature database.(3) The key technologies involved in the 3D process model generation are studied, including geometric model rapid generate, feature change response, 3D process model dimension and 3D process model release.(4) The radar parts 3D process model rapid generation system is developed based on the above theoretical results. And taking the typical radar parts as an example, the system functions, from the system start, process information import to manufacture feature recognition, feature suppression and manufacture feature management, are tested.
