Multiple-view feature modeling is a highlight in CAD research nowadays. Since feature is domain-specific, the mechanism of conversion and adjustment between multiple-view feature models is a key problem in feature technology. After the introduction of research background, basic theory, research method and applications of feature technology, the thesis focuses on the research on the conversion and adjustment between design feature model and machining feature model, as well as some related research issues of multiple-view feature modeling.A key problem with multiple-view feature modeling is consistency maintenance of multiple-view feature models. To automatically generate the machining feature model during the process of design and determine the design feature model adjustment method according to the desired modification on machining features is of great importance to the efficient support of CAD/CAM integration and design for manufacturing. The thesis is organized as follows:Chapter 1 introduces the main content and current status of the research on feature technology and points out main problems in the current feature technology research as well as the primary research content and objectives of the thesis.Chapter 2 describes the representations of design feature model and machining model adopted in this work, which is the basis of supporting synchronous design feature, machining feature modeling and design feature model adjustment according to the desired modification on machining feature model. The method of synchronous design feature and machining feature modeling based on local feature recognition is presented in Chapter 3. With the evolution of design process, this method incrementally creates machining feature model and realizes synchronous design feature and machining feature modeling based on local feature recognition. In addition, the method expedites the determination of the area that required to be recognized by utilizing dynamic link list to record the changing information of topological elements. In order to adjust the design feature model according to the modification suggestion on the machining feature model given by the engineer, a new method is presented in Chapter 4, which can automatically determine the adjustment method of design feature model after the modification on the machining feature model is required. The method figures out the related constraint links by searching Topological Element Constraint Relation Graph (TECRG) from the topological elements involved in machining feature modification. The optimal adjustment method, if possible, is automatically determined according to the properties of the TECRG, some implicit...
