Data center networks are becoming increasingly important for computing industry. However, traditional wired data centers have trouble with deployment and cabling issues. With the development of 60 GHz technology, data centers are going to be wireless. They are also going to be more convenient for the interconnection of different components without complex wiring. A fundamental challenge in wireless data center networking is how to e?ciently use 60 GHz wireless technology to improve the performance. Many existing works have been proposed for this, but they have the following problems, such as poor connectivity, not ?exible for deployment and long routing path. Our work is aimed at these problems, which are not able to solve in existing works. So we want to design new wireless data center network topologies in this paper. We have propose two topologies, Graphite and SphericalMesh respectively. By exploiting Hierarchical 3D Beamforming, they both solve the problem of link blockage properly. In Graphite, one server is able to communicate with as many other servers as possible. Besides, Graphite achieves more average node degree than existing proposals. In SphericalMesh, we achieve a much shorter routing path. By the SphericalMesh Routing Algorithm, the network is able to deal with link failures. Results from testbed, theoretical analysis and extensive evaluations show both two topologies are viable wireless topologies for data center networks.
