With the network technology development strides, Web applications because of its convenience, speed and ease of operation and other characteristics have been more and more integrated into our lives, has become a focus of software development. Today in market supply and demand conditions, Web application software is to provide users with more interactive dynamic content, but their size and their applications is constantly expanding. The fierce competition among business, forcing the application software must greatly shorten their development cycles, and in order to ensure their safety and availability, related Web testing is particularly important. People are more aware of Web applications is compared to traditional software, new features, new requirements and the need to standardize its testing technology, Web performance test whereby emerged as a hot topic.Web testing and traditional testing compared to its unique, not only to check whether the design meets the requirements, but also from the user’s point of view to test the availability and security aspects. Especially in performance testing, mainly in the unpredictable nature of the load, how to design test scenarios can be more authenticity and accuracy and bottleneck analysis plays an important role in software quality assurance. This paper describes the contents of the Web performance test metrics, test methods and develop strategies, a detailed description of its role, purpose. By comparing the two well-known Web performance testing tool, it has further illustrates the necessity and advantages.Today, many Web project, you need a small web performance testing tools, do some simple performance tests on the Web product, adjustment of the response and performance based on test results. Therefore, based on this demand, the web performance testing technology detailed study. And then compare the test tool QALoad to LoadRunner, analyze them to know how to implement the web performance test tool. On base of this, design and development a lightweight web performance testing tools LoadTest. At last, this paper also introduces how to use the performance-testing tool LoadTest by two testing examples on the LAN and WAN web site and the technology used by the overall system functionality, system design and implementation, system error handling, and system development. Do a performance testing on web site, collects and analyzes the test results. Finally, we looked forward to the future work. We will expand the performance-testing tool Load Test with the actual needs, and improve the methods, strategies of performance test.
